KIRKUS REVIEW

Peter Styles, star reporter for Newsview, believes that Judith Larsen is in great peril in the New England town of Wynwood, summer enclave of millionaires. Or is Judith just imaginging things? Has she become unhinged by the tragic deaths of her father and fiancÉe, the invalidism of her mother? So believe the police, the town doctor, and Judith's hated stepfather. But Styles sets out to find the truth, enlisting help from young Ben Gleason, local reporter. And before long Gleason is murdered--so Styles must go it alone, ultimately uncovering a clumsy plot involving half the town (and some of the most inept mobsters ever). Intriguing questions at the start; idiotic answers at the end: another Philips teaser with nothing but foolishness up its sleeve.
