ESSAYS OF A HUMANIST

Sir Julian Huxley thinks like man's perfect man. Having absorbed the best of civilization, contributed significantly to its science and thought, he can probably be seen to literally represent a high point in Homo sapiens evolution--the theory he has devoted his life to understanding, developing, and expanding as ""Evolutionary Humanism."" This collection of 14 essays, lectures, chapters, and articles is perfect summation and statement of his experience. Each piece is either informative for provocative whether it presents a discussion of the emergence of Darwinism, the humanist frame, psychometabolism, scales, Teilhard de Chardin, or expresses opinions on The New Divinity, the crowded world, and eugenics in evolutionary perspective, titles of many of the essays. Clearly, his is a mind for all to know -- even if only to argue with. Essential.
