RUN, LITTLE MONKEYS! RUN, RUN, RUN!

A present tense itinerary of three ""jolly"" grinning monkeys, first seen ""cheerfully chattering while feasting on delicious papayas,"" as they flee three ""awfully hungry"" leopards (also grinning, but with a teeth-baring menace) through the jungle. The monkeys climb past a boa in a tree, cross a river by stepping on a Crocodile's back, jump on top of some ""huge"" buffalo, rest on a beach full of crabs, and then climb on to a turtle who takes them to a safe monkey island -- while the pursuing leopards must grapple in turn with the boa, crocodile, buffalo and crabs. There is no particular distinction to the pictures or the writing, but the flat patches of solid color and the fast action of the leaping, arm-waving monkeys should work at story hour, where the regularly repeated ""Run, little monkeys! Run, run, run!"" will invite participation.
