I've seen only the dummy of this, but it promises well. Chamberlain's pictures are dependably lovely, as everyone familiar with his American landmarks knows. These make one nostalgically sick for a France now in eclipse, with glimpses of quaint corners, glorious cathedrals, historical monuments, romantic bits, reflecting many sides of the old France. The dummy contains none of the text, none of the lithographs, etchings and drawings. But it looks like a good choice for anyone who loved France, in days of peace.
