KIRKUS REVIEW

Good job on the lady-alone theme, as Susan Courage, sure that her husband, recently returned from South America, no longer loves her, is in the dark about four killings and the incessant search for a dressing case she has acquired. She trusts no one, fears everyone, takes no chances, but -- through her ignorance -- gums up two lines of pursuit. Only her husband's intervention saves her from death. Set against Connecticut country and New York City. Good feminine appeal.
