KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a summary in paper bound pamphlet form of a book called America's Needs and Resources, published by Twentieth Century Fund in 1947. There was enormously valuable material here, a complete and detailed picture of America's resources, and various facets of economic life. This material, the result of an extensive survey, deserves a wider market than it reached. Now in simplified form, with diagrams, charts, illustrations for virtually every page of text, the book presents graphically facts that should make everyone of us better informed citizens of these United States. An optimistic survey which may help offset a pessimistic wave. It is a backward picture, which provides basis for a foreword looking picture. The original survey had wide and important publicity. It should reach wide circulation in this new form and at this low price.
