THE MAN WHO LIKED TO LOOK AT HIMSELF

Another case out of Rocksburg, Penna. -- hunting and farming country and the not particularly attractive preserve of Chief of Police Balzic -- this time that of a dog with a bone, an adult hip bone finally traced to its owner, long disappeared Frank Gallic whose partner is a butcher and whose sister had been involved with him. So monosyllabic it rarely rises above the literal crunch and the story's equally reducible to a skeletal plot in either sense of the word.
