KIRKUS REVIEW

The author won the Abrose Gherini Prize at Yale University for this thesis subtitled The Case Against the World Aviation Cartel in which he indicts the International Air Transport Association (a private business association comprised of 104 airlines) for unenlightened self-interest amounting to a monopolistic dictatorship contrary to consumer interest. He demonstrates how the ITIA, fixes prices, suppresses competition and is now branching out into related arenas of tourism. The facts and figures are here along with reform proposals. Unfortunately the average international traveler won't be inclined to wing his way through the dry, casebook presentation. Very special.
