Secrets on both sides keep them apart, however, until danger rises again. Ballenger continues her Seven Range Shifters series, and there’s a lot going on. Lots of enemies, lots of secrets, lots of suspicion. The romance is sexy, and a fast-paced, rollicking plot will keep readers engaged, though too many head-scratching details get in the way: the shape-shifting community’s lack of trust for one of its highest ranking warriors; Colt's not realizing his deep-seated secrets aren’t secret at all; none of his friends sharing that fact with him; and more.

An ambitious paranormal romance that generally succeeds on the big picture but misses in the details.
