KIRKUS REVIEW

Mayan country and jungles for the adventures of three youngsters, Teddy, recently arrived from the United States, Catarins, daughter of an English rubber planter, and Sao Chel, a Mayan boy wise in the ways of his people. Teddy's disbelief in jungle dangers and local customs, the hunting of a jaguar, the trip to Mayan ruins, on which they get lost, but are saved by the mountain people and are privileged to learn some of their secrets -- these are the framework on which much Mayan lore and information are hung. Better than usual story of this type.
