This might be construed as in partial answer to Children of God, though the warmly human aspects of that picture of Brigham Young are underestimated by the Mormon Church. Clarissa Young Spencer was a daughter of Brigham Young and this is her portrait of Young as a father, of Young's various wives, of daily household living. She gives her version of historical incidents, of the social and educational activities. It is a likable book, naturally a favorable picture, of definite local interest.
