KIRKUS REVIEW

A group of fairy stories in the Grimm manner,- witches, beautiful princesses, an old wood cutter and his wife whom the fairies favored because of their goodness and to whom the fairies gave a magic mirror in which are reflected good deeds and bad. Original stories, with echoes of familiar legends of many lands, but with little to add of value. There are attempts to make it contemporary in feel- the giggling ghost, for instance. Most of the stories are enchantment stories with a bit of moral attached.
