KIRKUS REVIEW

Like this is a collection of verses written and illustrated by Karla Kuskin. Kittens, balloons, snowmen and dragons, Spring and children are the subjects of her small chants. Though the poems themselves are not of the stature of Rachel Field or of R.L.S., the rhymes are definite and recognizable and some of the imagery is inventive and amusing. This is a good conditioner toward sound similarities and as such a good building block toward phonics.
