A bear and his dog friend discover the seasons together and find a host of wonders pertinent to each which are conveyed in rhymed verse. The text fails dismally in its attempts at humor, but its most offensive flaw is its labyrinthine and shadeless detail leaving us with a jumbled impression of each season. Lackluster illustrations, ostensibly concepts which burst with possibility, visually carry out this flaw, placing a text highlight off in a corner, back behind a bush or within a maze of trees or grass, and requiring the most preceptive eye to uncover them. A poor choice for a seasonal introduction. Disappointing from this author.
