Surely all travelers would welcome panaceas for the discomforts and confusions of the road, the sea or the airways -- but there is relatively little substantive advice to be of much help here. True, Kate Aitken's 2,000,000 miles of wandering should qualify her to counsel -- but her suggestions are hardly news. Nor is the title an accurate one. The greater portion of the book discusses travel en famille with most of the helpful equipment she advises boosting costs for the average traveler. Her chapter on datelines of festivals round the world is useful. Comparative costs of countries are not covered. There is little afforded here which could not be more specifically outlined at any travel agency. For this particular facet on travelling, we suggest Edith Patterson Meyer's Go It Alone, Lady!
