THE CLUBWOMAN'S MANUAL by Kate M. & Isabel S. Monro

THE CLUBWOMAN'S MANUAL

By

Pub Date: Oct. 15th, 1957
Publisher: Macmillan

An adequate but uninspired handbook which is addressed to the immense field of clubwomen in organizations that have burgeoned since the General Federation was formed in 1890. Here are the steps to organization, the formulation of constitution and by laws, an analysis of the duties of members and officers, the installation of officers (with some examples from various types of clubs), the running of a meeting, and so on. Reports and correspondence are given more space than usually accorded, probably because this is a companion volume to the indispensable Secretary's Handbook by the same author. Where this volume fails to measure up, for instance, to The Club Woman's Book, by Helen Avery and Frank Nye (Holt- 1954) is in the paucity of stimulating and provocative ideas about programs and publicity- the field in which that book excelled.
