An up-dated Gothic romance that adds transoceanic flights and an inferiority complex to the usual lumps in the mix--an impoverished secretary-companion named Miss Seton MacCorrie, a formidable moneybags of an aunt with a castle in Scotland, a prophecy having to do with the widower across the glen, a pair of conscienceless opportunists, an unidentified ""auld loopy"" running around with a butcher knife--and it has all the flavor of a freeze-dried haggis.
