This story of the World War as seen through the family on a vast Hungarian farm, might well be a candidate for the Nobel Prize for Peace. As moving a plea as I can imagine for maintaining racial and international goodwill. It has all the charm in text and pictures of its predecessor, The Good Master, and more mature technique. Story movingly told, skillfully interweaving incident and idea.
