A wise old woman instructs Lazy Tinka in the art of finding the Heavenly Father who clothes and feeds all his creatures. On her magical walk through the dark green forest, Tinka is surprised to find each of the animals, from spider to rabbit, busily engaged in some form of work -- a concept Tinka shuns. Inadvertently she helps each of her new friends in some small way and, when an enemy threatens to attack the little girl, they all band together to save her. Having learned the value of extending a helping hand and the tangible rewards of hard work, Tinka returns home, transformed, and ready to pitch in. Young children may find the logic somewhat difficult to follow, despite the inherent lesson in the story. Seven and up will love it.
