KIRKUS REVIEW

He started as Hobey Higgins, Maine islander, whose sole contact with the outside world was through the summer people, particularly Rosalle, with whom he fell in love at the age of 10. He became Hobey Hadley, protegÉ of the adored nightclub director, Ruby, who had a household like Sanger's Circus. And finally he became a radio bigshot, still in love with Rosalie whose checkered matrimonial career interlaces his story. An upper out rental library item, with the fat and the lean of the 's and the ''s sandwiched in between the two wars. Katharine Brush has facility and a gift for glamour but this is not up to her best.
