KIRKUS REVIEW

Very useful biographical sketches of a dozen or so famous personalities in the American theatre world. Jerome Robbins, Burl Ives, Fred Astaire, Marian Anderson are some of them- and from incidents like Katherine Cornell's first stock company days with Jessie Bonstelle; or James Stewart's speedy journey to Hollywood stardom, or old Emmet Kelly's roots in the Chautauqua Circuit- young aspirants will feel themselves really backstage. Good entertainment about the entertainers themselves.
