KIRKUS REVIEW

The title comes from the name of Katharine Brush's syndicated column. Guite frankly, it reads as if designed only for that degree of ephemeral entertainment, not substantial enough for a book. Jottings -- notes on the cuff so to speak -- bits of humor and lightly cynical comments on the passing scene -- surface reflections on mood and tempe of the time -- likes and dislikes -- birdsays view of the world she lives in but of more than momentary value -- none-too-complimentary picture of herself -- and a thousand and one recognition bits in which the reader concurs, -- notes scarcely justifying the publisher's definition as essays.
