FLOWERS FOR MOTHER by Katherine Evans

FLOWERS FOR MOTHER

By

Publisher: David McKay

An innocuous story with small claim to originality, as Davis and Rosie are faced with mother's birthday and an empty piggy bank. As the title suggests, nature supplies the answer. After a long walk they fill a basket with flowers and trudge home, but an accident almost wrecks their plans. Uncle Ben in a rowboat saves the day, and at the end everyone enjoys ice cream and cake (but Daddy, who seems to be the forgotten man in most juveniles).
