KIRKUS REVIEW

At first glance your customers will assume this is simply another picture book. Further examination will indicate that --dramatized by a superb collection of pictures, we have here, in 50,000 words, a survey of the history, economics and politics of India, up to the present. This makes it a much more important book for students of the Far East, for public libraries, and so on than might have been expected from first impressions. Miss Mayo's name in connection with India, should take the hurdle which photographic books now face.
