KIRKUS REVIEW

Can be counted on for a fairly predictable market, though this isn't up to the best she can do. The story of convent bred Jocelyn, pitifully ignorant of real life, or of her own heritage, but eager for escape from fear and uncertainty and restraint, and accepting a way out in the proposed marriage to an older man, the one suitor her strange mother permits. Into her guarded life comes her mystery father -- and for a time she manages to lead a double life, neither one real, but one offering adventure and escape from conventionality, while the other seems to offer security and protection. Circumstances force her hand -- and reveal the past. Rental library primarily.
