KIRKUS REVIEW

One of those breathe-your-next-to-last lady's suspense stories set on the Cornish coast where they raise hens like this about Carolyn who marries Grey Brandon, suddenly, and then goes to stay with the people who reared him. But who or what is crying in the basement and what of the gift he has known, now murdered ""in the caves,"" and how could she have suspected his fits of ""insane temper."" The reader may have still fewer faculties, but she won't have to apply them at all.
