A dispute over the ownership of the walnut tree in Rob Robinson's backyard arises between Rob and the nesting robins. Content in his treehouse, Rob does not understand the birds as they admonish him for trespassing. Devouring the magic berry provided by Gramp Crow enables Rob to tune in on the robins and the argument. In deciding that boy and birds are related by name, a settlement acceptable to all is reached, and the relatives happily live on as friends in the tree.
