I thought this a charming story -- and the theme is an unfailingly popular one, with a somewhat new twist. Lottie is the nameless orphan in a convent school near New Orleans. A wounded homing pigeon brings her a contact with the outside world, and she nurses it back to health, and then releases it, with a valentine to the unknown owners. In this way they find a little girl to fill out their family, and Lottie finds a family to fill her lonely heart, The picture of the sisters is a warmly human one. Here is no suggestion of poor unhappy orphans.
