KIRKUS REVIEW

The illustrations are the only attraction here; otherwise it is a sparse treatment from both the literary and scientific viewpoint. Relatively numerous dry facts are jammed into fifty brief pages of text, and not all of these would go unchallenged: ""The behavior of a dog is controlled simply by animal instinct..."" Weart's The Story of Your Brain and Nerves is potentially more useful; this aims too low to carry such a load.
