ORLANDO (THE MARMALADE CAT) KEEPS A DOG by Kathleen Hale

ORLANDO (THE MARMALADE CAT) KEEPS A DOG

By

Publisher: Transatlantic Arts

Introduced here by Scribners in 1938, Orlando, the elegant marmalade cat, continues on his merry British way. This time Orlando's family advertises for a pet, and finally after the advent of job hunters of all shapes and sizes, Orlando is forced to adopt Bill the Poodle and Flute the Cinnamon Cat (a copy-cat or secretary). Bill, with his exuberant spirits, really causes excitement in the family. Sophisticated and contrived in text, but with wonderfully witty pictures in four colors, this extravagant production has paper over board binding and large type. May have dual appeal for cat lovers and carriage trade.
