KIRKUS REVIEW

A bumper crop of suspects for Elisha Macomber as there are many who hate Lucius Amsdon, in his household and among the natives on Penbarthy Island. In spite of the long line-up to hand, Macomber finds an unsuspected motive and murderer for his shrewd solution of the case... Pretty much of a repeat performance, and insubstantial.
