THREE MEN AND DIANA

Not listed as a ""Must Book"" although any Kathleen Norris' novel is assured a large circulating library audience. But this seems such an obvious bid for quick sales, that it does not deserve such a listing. A made-to-a-pattern story of a woman and three marriages, -- first with an actor; then with a society man (this turns out to have been faked); then with her first husband again; and finally with a self-made man out of her childhood past. Fire disposes of her natural guardian; polo disposes of her social lion; and suicide clears the decks for her last attempt. The setting is a San Francisco suburb.
