DEN 4 MEETS THE JINX

Adam's Cub Scouts do a lot of neat things, but his little sister Jessie often interferes; she even wants to be in the horror movie he's making for the big Cub banquet, Jessie is not the usual rotten five-year-old, however: she has an endearing way of taking what Adam and his friends tell her literally--she believes their stories of a magic golden egg, and a neighbor with a stuffed deer head becomes ""the headhunter"" The agonies she causes Adam are offset by the quiet affection he feels for her at other times. Adam and Jessie live in a trailer with their nicely normal parents and a refreshing lack of poverty or misery. Space, however, decrees a new Cub leader, and it is Jessie who solves this problem while Adam saves his sister from a disastrous fall and finds her a new friend. Gentle, funny entertainment in a fast-paced story.
