In whatever form she chooses to write, Kay Boyle, with her perceptive vision and passion- disciplined by superb artistry, is a poet. This volume of collected poems, if of today, spans the past too. She speaks not only of El Greco but of Franco's Spain as well. Though partisan to all countries and people that have suffered persecution, she is never rhetorical.
