MOLLY'S MOE by Kay Chorao

MOLLY'S MOE

Molly is a forgetful child, always losing mittens, shoes and such (""Think, dear,"" her mother urges), and Moe is her stuffed stegosaurus. When they go out for the morning errands mother promises a treat if Molly doesn't lose anything, and Molly dances from shop to shop, delighted with herself for keeping track of all her gear--only to end up home without Moe. Molly's appetite for the treat vanishes, but a nap, a dream, and some hard thinking help her recall that she had put Moe in the bag with the potatoes. Which makes a sound, sympathetic lesson but a strictly utilitarian story, despite Chorao's more artful and imaginative soft pencil drawings.
