THE INFINITE CAGE

The bizarre world of Adam, a being of pure intellect encased in a weakling human frame, as he copes with messy human emotions and dirty deeds. He travels in tandem with a would-be medium who has plans for his ESP and picks up in six months just about all the human brain has accomplished -- reading, calculating, and making money -- before he steps up to a better world, although he never quite digs sex and violence. Laumer's dialogue is as always bright and peppery, and bereft fans of Star Trek's Mr. Spock will also be charmed by Adam.
