Chidi and Michael are friends who live in South Africa. Michael comes to visit Chidi at his home, with a bag of toys to share. The boys play together, look at Chidi's books and maps, milk the goat and feed the hens, and have a snack. On pages showing all this activity, several words--mostly nouns--appear in Zulu and in English, and are illustrated. A glossary appears at the end, with a pronunciation guide that explains how to make the distinctive ""click"" sound in Zulu. Wilson-Max (Max, p. 1200, etc.) paints in matte planes of color outlined in black, which give his pages a patterned, decorative look.
