THE TORTURED PATH

Major Kim Locke, U.S. Army Central Intelligence, is assigned to retrieve a Colonel Malcolm from China where he has reputedly been brain-washed and broken. After a three months' ordeal of physical and mental torture, Locke simulates his submission and capitulation, is taken to a special headquarters for convert-traitors where Malcolm is confined, and arranges his escape. Warned, and helped, by a Chinese Nationalist girl, they make their getaway and Locke completes an impossible mission- but is unable to bring the Colonel back alive.... Unrefined action for a masculine audience, and brusque to brutal all the way.
