First in a new series, of New Mexico Artists, and an appropriate choice, for Kenneth Adams is one of the eleven members of Taos Society of Artists, and professor of Art at Albuquerque. Here is an artist who has won appreciation in his lifetime. Some of his work hange in permanent collections in most of the big art galleries. Reproduction has made him a familiar figure to those interested in the work of modern lithographers. He might be considered representative of the Charlot school, with a massive quality -- along with a sense of flow and rhythm- that individualizes his work. Unforgettable is his creation of an illusion of brilliant light, the desert sunlight of his native New Mexico. Without being in by regionalism be in somehow symbolic of the southwest.
