This book is a persuasive call for a renewal amongst us of the reading of the Bible, together with some very practical suggestions as to how such reading can be arranged in the family group or by individuals. The author is a Congregational minister who was steeped in the Bible in his youthful days in the north of Ireland. He succeeds in this book in communicating to the reader his love of the Bible, and at the same time he knows how it may be made meaningful by discriminating and intelligent selection. Not the least valuable parts of the book are his Bibliography and the schedule for Bible reading found in the appendix. Protestant ministers and church school leaders could not go wrong in recommending this book to their spiritually illiterate parishioners.
