A routine but well paced story of Chip Norton who wants to earn money for high school by sailing the 34 foot Dipsy Do along the Washington salmon banks. With him goes Ben, a runaway from a mean guardian Jud, who has joined up with a questionable bunch who sail the Widgeon's.
