THE CATALYST

Tom Prescott, who once had nothing but is now a success, returns to his childhood town- and Laurel, as lovely in reality as in memory. But Laurel, strongly under the influence of her older sister, Bertha, also lives in the fear that she is ""tragedy-prone"" and does not relate the death of a former lover and two subsequent deaths to the incidents which now obstruct her romance with Tom. Tom puts an end to all of this- which is probably just as well..... Substandard.
