THE KENNETH ROBERTS' READER by Kenneth Roberts

THE KENNETH ROBERTS' READER

By

Pub Date: Oct. 18th, 1945
Publisher: Doubleday, Doran

This is a reprint only in that it is a collection from Kenneth Roberts' books -- twenty six pieces in all, including scenes from the novels, essays from Treading Into Maine and For Authors Only and one hitherto unpublished (in book form) essay, Experiments With a Forked Twig. Among the books represented are Arundel, Rabble In Arms, Northwest P, Oliver Wiswell, Captain Caution, The Lively Lady -- and it is interesting to see how even for a reader to whom the books are familiar, these pieces reread with a lively sense of freshness, vivid narrative, and a spur to the appetite for more which we hope will persuade now readers to the Roberts' band-wagon, as well as old readers to go back for more of the rich fare he offers. Roberts' collectors, of whom there are a goodly number, will want this for the original essay.
