LOOK HOMEWARD ANGEL: A Play

From the novel by Thomas Wolfe, this play is an extraordinarily successful synthesis of a great sprawling novel of youthful genius. Ketti Frings has brought into focus, not only the individuality of the key figures in the drama, but the hopes and despairs, the aspirations and the frustrations of the youth who was essentially Tom Wolfe as he saw himself. The play is successfully launched on Broadway and due for a long and prosperous season. In book form, this should prove immensely valuable for play reading groups, away from the metropolis.
