MAY I KEEP DOGS?

By

Publisher: Dodd, Mead

The author of Visitors from London received the Carnegie Medal of the Library Association of London in 1940. She has now done another book with all the earmarks of popularity, which will be enjoyed by the same type of girl who loves the new Denison. Here you have the same combination of girl and dog, the writing has ease, charm and a good pace. The English father has to go off on a hush-hush job in September, 1939, leaving three motherless children. The youngest of these, Thirza, finds herself with a thriving kennel business because she is so good at handling dogs. The older two also help keep the old estate going by putting the saw-mill to better use.
