Adventure with an historical rather than strictly western base, as Ohio's settler days (1700) provide bloody redskin warfare for will Morgan, young trapper. Avoiding the advances of tomboy Ann, will falls in love with a southern girl, Mary, becomes engaged to her, but loses her during an Indian raid on the settlers' camp. Will starts Indian hunting, posing as White Panther, Indian chief, and succeeds in avoiding capture through Ann, also an Indian captive. Eventually, when the whites take their reprisals, he sees Mary killed by their own bullets...and turns to Ann. Sustained, unstandarized adventure.
