KIRKUS REVIEW

Every child cherishes the dream of having a pony -- so this book has sure sales' appeal -- plus the proved merchandise value of the tangible ""fool"" in the rough coat of the pony. But it seems to me the age group for which this type of book is intended isn't quite ready for a story of how Paul drove his pony too fast and hard -- and of how the pony almost died -- and of how Paul cured him by using the sun lamp. The double page spread pictures in three colors, by Dick Hart, are lovable.
