WINGED CITADEL by Kristmann Gundmundsson

The story of a Utopia which became so soft with civilization that it fell before the conquerors. Amyntas, a poor young Macedonian, goes with some pirates to the Isle of Crete. The pirates are slain; he is accepted as one of them by the Cretans, and received into the Utopian society they have established. This is the story of his adventures in love, an accepted facet of the Utopian creed. Only mildly interesting, and the style is choppy, the story and the dissertations on the Utopian ideal are tiresome. Could pass it up, without loss.
