NEW NATIONS IN A DIVIDED WORLD: The International Relations of the Afro-Asian States

By

Publisher: raeger

The result of a one-week conference of ""Sovietologists"" and various other socially-minded policy pundits which was held near Athens, Greece, in September, 1962, this collection of scholarly papers on such subjects as neo-colonialism, non-alignment, nationalism, and economic development, was chosen from the 57 prepared studies circulated during the conference which were intended to serve as the basis for the discussions. It must be said of all those included here that they are substantial, fairly well organized, and contain some valuable new approaches to their respective problems; and if their style is forbiddingly technical, it must be recalled that they were not primarily intended for publication. A non-specialist, would-be reader, however, might wish that the editor had presented him with some of the ""emotional outbursts"" and examples of the ""suspicions and resentments"" which these papers supposedly provoked.
