KIRKUS REVIEW

A moderate priced compendium of useful knowledge that has for its scope a wide range, rather than a specialized approach, of general hunting. Basic information on guns and equipment, woods lore and field formalities, is scattered throughout the text but the bulk is in the opening and closing chapters. In between there is competent coverage on all types of game, covers or locale, food, how to hunt, the time of year, of day, the use of dogs, guns and techniques. Excellent reference for nimrods.
